Beginning December 1, 2009, the FTC requires websites to provide disclosures whenever there could be hidden interest or unspoken biases related to recommendations. Thus the following.
- Total Waterpolo partners with organizations that pay to appear on this site. Occasionally, those partners are invited to share information about their products or services and/or contribute content to the site. In so doing those organizations will obviously present their products or services in the best possible way. Therefore, those types of product or service reviews, explanations, instructions, videos or articles will always be posted so that it is obvious a sponsor has authored the specific content.
- If Total Waterpolo receives free products or services, or cash payment in exchange for a solicited review of a product or service, it will be disclosed in the relevant article. Once such a review is complete, the product or service will be returned or discontinued.
- Products and services that are presented on TotalWaterpolo.com are meant to be helpful to the water polo community. No outcomes will ever be guaranteed here.
- Per US Federal Trade Commission rules, if during an interview Total Waterpolo receives any free goods or services (e.g. a bowl of soup, trousers, a professional back rub, a glass of 2012 Aligoté Clotilde Devenne, Saint Bris) from the interviewee, that fact will be disclosed in the interview. Enjoy.
