WATCH: Stanford Visits Iconic Indy Raceway on Eve of Championships

Eight women’s varsity water polo teams have descended upon the the center of the United States this weekend. Indiana University plays host to the 2017 NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championships in Indianapolis at the famous IUPUI Natatorium. The first ball drops at noon on Friday with the upstarts from Wagner attempting to upset top-seeded UCLA in a live-streamed matchup.

The tournament also features defending champs USC, Stanford. Michigan, UC Irvine, Pacific and Cal in a field loaded with talent.

The trip offers some unique opportunities for teams to experience some of the Midwest’s most famous destinations. The Cardinal took time to visit The Brickyard, home of the famous Indianapolis 500 auto race. They will take on Pacific in their Friday opener at 3:30.
