An historic match last week in Connecticut. For decades the state has had only one legitimate boys water polo power, Greenwich. The Brunswick School is located five minutes away and now provides the Cardinals their closest and most legitimate rivals. The Bruins took down Greenwich for the first time last week and remain undefeated in the fall season.
[Brunswick], who came close to defeating perennial powerhouse Greenwich High School last season, achieved a program-first. Receiving three goals from senior Will Marvin and outstanding play from senior goalie Charlie Pang, Brunswick edged host Greenwich, 6-5, for its first ever victory over the Cardinals.
Greenwich will look to recover later this season by winning its annual Cardinal Invitational Tournament and is entered in the The Beast of the East Tournament this weekend.
