Thousands of young American water polo athletes are in San Jose for the huge Junior Olympics tournament. Some are avoiding the traffic and have set their training sights further afield. Chicago’s Fenwick High School boys have partnered with their Dominican counterparts in Adelaide, Australia to conduct a three-week training visit. The Chicago Tribune rounds out the details.
The relationship between Fenwick High School in Oak Park and Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaide, South Australia began in the early 1990s based on a few common traits the schools shared. Both schools were Dominican, and both were good at water polo.
