UCLA men’s water polo will host their foes from the west, USC, for the second consecutive year in Sunday’s NCAA championship match. The Bruins dispatched fifth-seed UC San Diego in a lopsided 17-4 semifinal match on Saturday to reach the final.

USC lived up to its preseason No. 2 ranking by bashing out an 8-6 victory over peaking Cal, a team that ended the season in the second slot and who fell to undefeated UCLA by only one in their conference final. Though the Bears scored first the Trojans quickly recovered to go up 3-1 in a high-scoring first period after which their defense held tight let by a stellar performance by goalkeeper McQuin Baron.
