While fall water polo for the rest of America’s high schools is over, one state has yet to crown a champion. Boise is host the Idaho’s unofficial prep championship on Saturday where Magic Valley will attempt to win it all again.
The sport is not sanctioned by the Idaho High School Activities Association. That structure allows for flexibility not encountered in other states.
The Magic Valley squad is comprised of athletes from various high schools, similar to what is allowed in states like Georgia and Texas. Idaho has the unique requirement that teams not only maintain co-ed rosters, but that two girls must be in the pool for each team at all times.
Events get under way at 8:00 AM at the Boise Aquatic Center
