The boys of St. Xavier completed the 2015 boys’ prep season the way it started: with the Bombers on top. That after a 9-4 win over second-seeded Upper Arlington in the Ohio High School Water Polo Championships at Mason Community Center on Saturday.

Both teams were at pains to find their footing for much of the game largely due to well-timed defensive pressure and nervous mistakes by both sides. St. Xavier held a four goal lead at half but didn’t comfortably put away the game until well in to the final period.

Upper Arlington finishes as runners up for the first time since 2008. The Aviators last won the title in 2012.

The day’s quarterfinal and final matches were streamed live and have been archived by ICRCTV.

Updates to come as press and social media coverage of the events expand.
