Wagner College To Add Men’s Water Polo – Wagner College Seahawks

Men’s varsity water polo is on the rise.

A week after McKendree University in Illinois formalized the establishment of a water polo program, Wagner College in New York has announced the addition of a men’s team to augment its successful women’s program. The new team will begin play in the fall of 2016. Current women’s coach Chris Radmonovich will add the men’s team to his duties.

The new team will increase the number of intercollegiate men’s programs to 47. It is only the second NCAA Division I men’s program created since Iona’s was launched in 1983. San Jose State University ended that 30-year dry spell when it re-established its men’s team in 2014.

Staten Island, NY – Wagner College President Dr. Richard Guarasci has announced the addition of men’s water polo and women’s fencing as varsity sports, each of which will begin competition in the 2016-17 academic year.
