The USC men’s water polo team announced its 2015 schedule on July 20. The Trojans will attempt to regain a spot atop intercollegiate water polo after falling to UCLA in the 2014 title match.
That effort will be smoothed by a favorable end-of-season schedule in which the Trojans will host the vital Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. That competition will begin November 20 at the campus’ Uytengsu Aquatic Center. The winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships two weeks later hosted by UCLA.
The Trojans will remain largely in Southern California for the entire 2015 season. A trip to San Diego’s Triton Invitational will open the season. A September visit to Palo Alto and another northward tour in October will be the only significant departures from SoCal for the team.
The UCSD tournament begins on September 5.
