USC earned top ranking in USA Today’s best colleges for men’s water polo in the United States. A similarly unsurprising outcome for the women: Stanford is the best. USC, Cal, UCLA and Arizona State follow.
The best women’s water polo program in the country is found at Stanford University. The team competes in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and in the past five seasons, it has claimed four national titles. Student-athletes and members of the coaching staff from Stanford women’s water polo team often earn national recognition for their success.
Along with a top athletic program, Stanford is home to some of the top academic programs in the country. The largest majors at this private university are social sciences and engineering, but the school offers a wide range of concentrations. The affordable cost, and high retention and on-time graduation rates, make Stanford a good value for any student.
As with the men the list tends to mirror national water polo rankings, again explained largely by the fact that “Athletic Competitiveness” and “Overall College Quality” are the most important variables.

Stanford as always on top, even at sport. It is a good example for other universities how things should be.
