The prep water polo season ends today with five champions to be crowned, four in Utah and a girls’ titleist in Michigan. There tournament hosts Zeeland produced the most drama during opening round matches on Friday with an overtime loss to third ranked Skyline. Three of the four tournament finalists hail from Ann Arbor with Hudsonville the lone Western school remaining.
In Utah they’ve been going at it since Thursday. Growth in the sport appears clear as the tournament now includes three separate divisions per gender. The 4A favorites, Kearns, have advanced again to play in both the boys and girls finals on Saturday.
