The Pennsylvania state championship trophy has returned to West Lawn. The second seeded Wilson High School boys defeated top-seeded North Penn convincingly on Saturday, 14-9, after a 17-13 semifinal win over Cathedral Prep. North Penn entered the tournament as favorites with a 24-0 record. The Knights topped both 2013 champions and runners up North Allegheny and Cumberland Valley in preliminary matches to earn a berth in the final. In it they scored the opening goal and then never led again as Wilson raced to an 8-2 lead just prior to halftime.
The Bulldogs avenged a 7-5 loss to North Penn two weeks ago at the Knight Invite. North Penn TV streamed the final match live.
