Monmouth College (IL) has moved quickly to round out the coaching staff for its newly promoted varsity water polo program by today announcing the hiring of Josh Dunn as head coach. The school made its choice days ago but delayed the announcement pending a final review of documents.

Dunn will report to Alex de la Pena who serves as the college’s director of aquatics and remains head swim coach.

Dunn will graduate from Monmouth this May after completing the swim season, and was on the Division III men’s club that won a national championship in 2012. The Cleveland, Ohio native De la Pena will serve as an assistant coach for both men’s and women’s water polo squads while Dunn will oversee all technical aspects of coaching those teams.

Monmouth will begin its first season of NCAA Division III play in the fall of 2013 as members of the CWPA.
