USA v. China

Tony Azevdeo was quoted as saying that the Chinese team has improved by quite a bit since a match a few years ago. The Americans’ performance only partially confirmed that. (My own opinion is that China will return to their mediocre international standing once the glow of the Olympics has faded.) The result should have been far more lopsided. The US won that game based on Azevedo’s shooting, opportune defense, and Merril Moses’ goalkeeping. They can consider themselves lucky to have the China game to get their poor shooting and offensive foul bonanza out of the way.
